Earlier this week, midfielder Anthony Forde left Wrexham by mutual consent after struggling for game time this season. Now, the 31-year-old's Irish compatriot, McClean, has praised his former team-mate, saying he is "one hell of a human".

McClean wrote in an Instagram story about Forde: "Great roomie, terrible drinker, an even worse boxer but most importantly one hell of a team-mate and human though."

Forde joined Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds's side in 2022 from Oxford United and played a big role in Wrexham earning two straight promotions to League One. But all four of his appearances this season came in the English Football League Trophy (EFL), as he failed to make a league outing. However, his place in Wrexham's history is assured.
